Google Business Profile integration

This page documents the Google Business Profile integration intended for MotivePulse IQ, a product of Motive Corp. It is written for customers, Google reviewers, and business owners who want a clear explanation of what the integration does and does not do.

Current access status

Google Business Profile API access is not currently represented as approved or fully live in MotivePulse IQ. The application is designed to fail closed when Google API access is unavailable. Until Google grants the required project access, MotivePulse can prepare reply drafts for a user to review and copy into Google manually, but it does not claim that one-click Google publishing is available.

What the integration is for

When Google Business Profile API access is available, a business owner or authorized manager may manually connect their Google account to MotivePulse IQ. The integration is intended to:

• List Business Profile accounts and locations the signed-in user owns or manages.
• Read reviews for those authorized locations.
• Show unanswered reviews and response status inside the customer workspace.
• Generate optional AI reply drafts for the user to review.
• Publish a reply only after the signed-in user explicitly approves and confirms that reply in the MotivePulse interface.
• Let the user disconnect the Google connection from MotivePulse settings.

What the integration is not used for

• We do not scrape Business Profiles the user does not own or manage.
• We do not harvest Google reviews into a public review database.
• We do not expose Google API credentials or provide a proxy API to third parties.
• We do not auto-publish AI-generated review replies.
• We do not run unattended bulk changes to hours, categories, locations, reviews, or other Business Profile content on behalf of customers.
• Google Places public-data snapshots are treated separately from owner-authorized Google Business Profile data.

Authorization and user control

The customer initiates Google authorization from inside MotivePulse and signs in directly with Google. The user must already be an owner or manager of the Business Profile they want to use. MotivePulse requests only the Google authorization needed for the connected Business Profile workflow and does not ask customers to share Google passwords with us.

Saved provider credentials are encrypted at rest, scoped to the customer account and product, and are never returned to the browser after storage. Customers can disconnect a provider from MotivePulse settings. Provider-side revocation is used where the provider supports it; local credentials are removed from active use when disconnected.

Review replies require human approval

AI may suggest a response, but the user remains the decision-maker. MotivePulse does not treat an AI draft as permission to publish. A reply can only be sent through Google when the user reviews it and takes the explicit publish/approve action and when Google API access is available.

Google data we may process

For a connected and authorized location, MotivePulse may process the minimum data needed for the requested workflow, such as:

• Google account/location identifiers and basic location metadata.
• Review text, rating, reviewer display information provided by Google, and review timestamps.
• Existing owner replies and reply status.
• OAuth tokens required to maintain the authorized connection.

Google-connected data is used to provide the customer-requested product features. We do not sell Google-connected data or use it to build advertising audiences.

Privacy, deletion, and disconnection

Customers can disconnect Google from the product and can request account or data deletion through support. Additional details are available in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Reviewer and demo access

A live demo of the relevant MotivePulse workflow can be provided to an authorized platform reviewer upon request. Demo access is intended to show the same customer-facing authorization, review, approval, and disconnect workflow used by the production application without exposing another customer's data.
